My name is Chinemerem. I am an Igbo language enthusiast, and have been teaching Igbo for seven years. My interest in the Igbo culture began after reading my favorite book of all time - Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. 

I am a strong advocate for cultural preservation, which motivates much of my work relating to asụsụ na omenala Igbo (the Igbo language and culture). My book, Kwezuonu! A Beginner's Guide to the Igbo Language, was published in 2019 and aims to equip learners with Igbo language knowledge using a beginner-friendly, grammatical approach. 

I aspire to make learning Igbo fun! This is reflected in my social media platforms, where I make colorful, "mini Igbo lessons" on a variety of topics. I am particularly interested in the intersection between culture and language - this is why one of my favorite traditions is ịwa ọjị (breaking kola nut), which is done entirely in the Igbo language. 

Kwezuonu! A Beginner's Guide to the Igbo Language (Second Edition) was released in 2026. It features a 5-chapter extension, updated explanations,  and new lessons.
